Humboldt girls, boys sweep team CC titles at Iowa Falls

Humboldt swept both the girls and boys team titles in the Iowa Falls-Alden Invitational Cross Country meet held Aug. 25 at Mayne's Grove recreation area south of Hampton. The Humboldt girls breezed to a 29-point victory over host IFA/AGSWR (46-75) while the boys totaled 47 points to edge Aplington-Parkersburg (48) and Clear Lake (50).

Freshman Bryce Gidel led the Wildcat girls by running first overall in 19:57. Gabby Kent was fourth in 20:49 while Kate Curran was 12th in 23:09.

Ryan Courtney ran third overall in 17:54 to pace the Wildcat boys and Joseph Kunert was fourth in 17:57. Denny Pederson ran 11th.
