HHS girls open at Clear Lake Relays
The Humboldt High School girls' track team opened their season by competing in the Clear Lake Early Bird Relays on Tuesday, April 8.
The Wildcats earned several first-place finishes. Sam Larson won the 3,000-meter run in 11:07. Larson and Sophia Luu finished first and second, respectively, in the 1,500-meters. Larson ran 5:12 while Luu ran 5:32. Maggy Duffield won the 100-meter hurdles in 16.62 seconds while Amaris Runia won the shot put with a throw of 34-feet six-inches.
The 4x800 relay of April Jones, Olivia Hildreth, Beth Duffield and Maddie Kampen were second in 10:36. The sprint medley relay of Caitlyn Wadsley, Kessa Kuyper, Maggy Duffield and Maddie Kampen ran second in 2:01.29.
Humboldt returns to action on Friday, April 11 at Hampton. They'll compete at Algona on April 15.
