Humboldt girls advance to state cross country!
The entire Humboldt Wildcat girls' cross country team will be competing in the Class 3A state championships on Saturday (Nov. 2) at Lakeside Golf Course north of Fort Dodge after Humboldt won the qualifying meet held at Winterset on Oct. 24. Humboldt finished with 67 team points to secure the top spot. Winterset (81) and Dallas Center-Grimes (97) finished out the three teams who advance to state.
Individually, the top 10 runners also advance to state. Sam Larson was second in 14:40 to pace Humboldt Maddie Kampen ran fourth in 15:06 with Sophia Luu placing 10th in 15:27. McKennan Myott ran 23rd in 16:16, Kate Curran was 28th in 16:30, Avery Terwilliger 31st in 16:35 and Kessa Kuyper 58th in 17:25.
The 3A girls state meet race begins at 12 noon. The awards ceremony will be at 1:20 p.m.
